The Botánico collection emerged from a quest to explore the limits of metal sheet transformation in a jewelry scale.
The starting point of the collection is a floral wallpaper motif, which has been dissected, and studied to look for the motif's flower essential beauty. Just as a botanist would have studied and dissected plants to understand their complexity, the elements of this flower were studied and then, its essential beauty, translated into a metal piece.
The designs unfold in an evolutionary sequence of a single floral pattern in sheet metal. By chiseling, cutting and folding metal sheets, the story of nature’s growth and complexity unravels.
If you stop to look closer to the details of each piece in the collection, the openings of the petals, and the dotted drawing chiseled in the sheet weaves a narrative about the beauty of stopping and observing the growth and metamorphosis of nature.
The "Botanical" series is a tribute to nature.
