Creative direction and production of Acuario Bar

Wine bar located in Antoní Bonet´s modernist building  “Atelier de Artistas” protected by UNESCO.

The Design approach respected the formal and structural legacy of the Architect and included a theatrical twist, by choosing curved, reflective and polished surfaces in combination with bold colors that opened up the small but airy interior.

The formal identity of “Atelier de artistas” has a Le Corbusier inspired curved facade and high ceilings, which is reflected in the curved furniture design.  Both Bonet´s modern approach and Deon Rubís studio’s contemporary views on formal design join together to create Acuario Bar’s light and fluid place for intimate gathering. Subtle Hopper-esque lighting was brought in to give warmth to the metallic furniture finishes, balancing out the sought after atmosphere.
